Suman is a barrister with many years’ experience in Criminal law, regularly prosecuting in the Magistrates and Crown Courts and for the DWP. She also has over sixteen years’ experience in the field of immigration, regularly appearing before the First and Upper tribunal throughout the UK. Suman has dealt with all types of appeals, ranging from asylum and human rights, to points based applications, settlement and deportation. She has also assisted those in immigration detention to obtain bail.
Her keen understanding of South Asian culture and fluency in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu have been invaluable in representing some clients and putting them at ease. She adopts a hands-on approach and where possible meets the appellant prior to the hearing. Her aim is always to make a stressful situation easier.
Suman has also represented clients before the Social Security and Education Tribunals.
